About US

Plymouth Deaf Choices (PDC) is part of a larger charitable organisation, Deaf Choices UK. (DCUK)

We organise social events for hearing impaired children and their families throughout Plymouth and surrounding areas of Devon & Cornwall. We rely on charitable donations, applications to charitable trusts and fundraising activities to support the groups activities.

We meet on the first Saturday of every month between 10 am and 12pm at St. Andrews Hall Plymouth for an informal coffee morning for parents, carers and grandparents of children who are deaf and hearing impaired. The coffee morning includes activities for deaf children and their siblings.

The organisation of events and activities are led by parents and carers who attend the coffee mornings.

We welcome new members. If you are thinking that you might like to attend you are welcome to just turn up or telephone Henrietta on 07961668992 and we can arrange to meet one-to-one to talk more about the group and see if it’s something you would like to do.

Join Our Monthly Coffee Mornings!

First Saturday of every month - Abbey Hall, St. Andrews Church, Royal Parade, Plymouth, PL1 2AD

A welcoming space for parents and carers to connect and share experiences
Fun activities for primary school-aged deaf children
Subsidised activities and events

Membership £10 per year per family.

Dance Club

Venue: Eggbuckland Vale Primary School
Dates: Thursday, April 24th – Thursday, July 17th
Time: 3:20 PM – 4:20 PM
No session on May 29th (half-term break)

Our Aims

To provide a safe space for parents of deaf children to meet with their children.
To promote self-confidence in deaf children through social activities and events.
To offer inclusion of deaf children through activities with their peer group.
To encourage family participation through the provision of activities which include the whole family.
To offer parents and carers a greater understanding of the Choices for deaf children’s language and literacy journey.
